Inner Mongolia college of art is located in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia. It is an undergraduate higher art school approved by the ministry of education in 2015.

The former Inner Mongolia art school was founded in 1957. In March 1987, with the approval of the state education commission, Inner Mongolia art school was incorporated into Inner Mongolia university to establish Inner Mongolia university school of art. In April 2015, the ministry of education approved the independent establishment of Inner Mongolia college of art on the basis of Inner Mongolia university school of art.

According to the official website of the university in November 2018, the university has 8 teaching units, 1 affiliated secondary art school, 24 undergraduate programs, 2 first-level academic master's programs, and 8 professional master of arts (MFA) programs. It has nearly 600 faculty members and nearly 5,000 students.
