Xi 'an Conservatory of Music, also known as Xi 'an Conservatory of Music, is located in the world's historic city and ancient capital, Xi 'an. Founded in October 1949, Xi 'an Conservatory of Music is the only independently established high-level Music institution in northwest China. East of the great wild goose pagoda, west of the starting point of the silk road, north of the south gate of the ancient city of chang 'an, south of the daxing good temple.

The school is a master's degree conferring unit. As of October 2016, it covers an area of 89,547.1 square meters, with a construction area of about 289,900 square meters. There are 2 superior disciplines at the first level of the provincial level, 1 characteristic discipline at the provincial level, and 12 master's degree authorization centers in the second level disciplines. It has set up 12 teaching units, including music education college and modern music college, with 10 undergraduate majors. It has the northwest national music research center, "One Belt And One Road" music culture advanced research institute, xi 'an drum music academy, shaanxi philharmonic orchestra, xi 'an drum music art troupe, qin zheng art troupe and other social science research bases or art practice groups. There are 527 teaching staff, including 325 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, 160 have the professional title of deputy senior or above, 254 have master's or doctor's degree, and 4 enjoy the special allowance of the state council. There are more than 4500 full-time students.

School has won the national scientific and technological progress second prize, verdi international vocal music, Italy, the international viola competition prize contest oboe instrument association, the ministry of culture of Chinese national instrumental music folk music combinations performance won the first prize in a number of important awards, for the "xi 'an drum music" "music" han "the silk road music culture", "dance" tang "Chinese violin" "music of shaanxi cultural studies" "qin sent folk music", etc, produced a batch of characteristic research and high-level experts.
