On the morning of April 11, 2017, professor Adrian Walter, President of the Hong Kong academy for performing arts, led a delegation from the school to visit the central conservatory of music. Professor Samuel Leong, vice-chancellor (academic), and professor Sharon Choa, dean of the school of music, were also present.

The Hong Kong guests also visited the school's teaching facilities and the newly opened opera hall, and observed the teaching of the command department and the symphony orchestra of the central conservatory of music.
